We, gamers, must be the happiest people on the planet now as the quarantine is still here. We finally have enough time and no need for excuses to play all day long and catch up with all the games we’ve missed. The best thing is that there is no quarantine for game developers, so new releases arrive – maybe a bit later than planned, but that’s something we can bear. Here are the best upcoming games to look forward in May and June 2020.
Post Contents Table
Arboria (PC) – May 7
This is a Dreamplant’s game with absolutely stunning graphics where you will need to fight with wonderful fantastic creatures to find out the secrets of your tribe. The developer describes the game as a “3D rogue-lite, third-person action RPG”, so you will have a nice mix of fights and exploration here. Your character will be able to mutate, use different weapons, and get upgrades, so Arboria seems to be a rather fun ride.
Apex Legends Season 5 (PC, PS4, Xbox One) – May 12
The delayed and very much anticipated the fifth season of Apex Legends is supposed to arrive on May 12th. A new legend, exclusive items, quests, and champions are coming in this season. There also are rumors about a new map, and nerfs and buffs, but we shall see what changes we will enjoy in new Apex Legends.
Minecraft Dungeons (PC, PS4, Xbox One, Switch) – May 26
This game will be a fun experience for all the dungeon lovers. You will have to go through dungeons alone or with friends, fight creatures you meet, and get cool treasures. Also, you will be able to customize your character and get various weapons, enchantments and other items to become a stronger fighter.
Wildfire (PC) – May 26
This fascinating 2D stealth game will let you try the role of an elemental mage. Try to outsmart and defeat your enemies using your powers – you will be able to start the fire, move earth, and control water. As you improve them, you get new more sophisticated abilities. Your goal is to take back your home. And if you’re kind enough – save some villagers on your way.
The Elder Scrolls Online: Greymoor (PC, PS4, Xbox One) – June 2
Meet the new chapter of The Elder Scrolls that will tell you about all the betrayals and mysteries that happened a thousand years before The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. In this chapter, you will confront the Vampire Lord and try to restore the light in Skyrim. Also, you will learn the secrets of Tamriel while you explore locations and stumble upon relics. This chapter brings new events, trials, and rewards as well.
Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 3 (PC, PS4, Xbox One, Switch) – June 4
We don’t know much about Season 3 of Fortnite. The released teaser posters give us hints that this season will be built around water – we can see Meowscles who is semi-submerged in water, a shark, and a floating house.
Looking back at previous seasons, we can expect the new one to bring us new fun weapons and map changes. However, we have only our guesses now – the developer doesn’t reveal much about the upcoming release.
Beyond Blue (PC, PS4, Xbox One) – June 8
This single-player will take you for an adventure into the deep ocean. You will try on the role of a sea explorer and become a part of a research team. Playing Beyond Blue you will get to use some cool technologies that will allow you to interact with the ocean and understand it better. The game also features sixteen mini-documentaries made exclusively for Beyond Blue. These documentaries will tell you more about the ocean and show you some interviews with real ocean experts. So it’s safe to say that you will learn something new when playing this game.
Desperados 3 (PC, PS4, Xbox One) – June 16
This is a prequel to Desperados: Wanted Dead or Alive many of us were waiting for impatiently. In this game, John Cooper will follow his quest for redemption going through the Wild West along with his gang. Developers promise that the mere skill of the gunslinger will not be enough for you to survive. You will need to develop some kind of tactic and think about how to combine the skills your team boasts. Desperados 3 allows the player to choose between five characters with different sets of skills. Also, players will have the freedom of choice during the game as each obstacle has several solutions. This game promises to be very flexible and fun with all the adjustments it allows players to make.
The Last of Us 2 (PS4) – June 19
Because of COVID-19 developers that worked on this game had to switch to working from home. So even though the release date was planned for May 29th, The Last of Us 2 will be released on June 19th. It will have five different editions that you can already preorder on the official website. The gameplay demo we’ve seen on E3 promises The Last of Us 2 to be a nerve-racking action-survival – just what we expect and want this game to be. Playing it, you will follow Ellie’s path to vengeance and go through all the struggles and moral dilemmas along with her.
All the release dates mentioned in the article are official. However, you should consider that they might move forward. It’s quite usual for game developers to delay releases – and now we have the quarantine that might impact their productivity. But either way, we will have new games to enjoy in May and June 2020.
